We arrived in Strasbourg were immediately overwhelmed by the beauty of the city. We are talking picture post card, fairy tale, flowers flowing from everywhere type beauty. The next thing we noticed was the abundance of coffee shops and patisseries, so definitely I for one, was in a very happy place. We needed to check in with the Tourism Board, who we were working for and asked where to go out of all of these treasure.

She said one word ‘Naegel.’ So off we went. A long a perfect little-crooked cobble stoned lanes and around the corner from the magnificent Notre Dam Cathedral we found our target. It was hard to pull ourselves away from the window display of every cake, tart, torte and macaron ever known to man. We waited as there was a queue and very luckily got a seat inside.

The hard part was picking the cakes and the coffee to have and to be able to express this in English, which was not overly spoken in the shop. Gordon left the communication to me so with a lot of pointing I got cakes and coffee.

Naegel is decadence; Naegel is hedonism. Naegel Pâtissier Strasbourg is everything a French patisserie should be, except they consider themselves Alsation and not French. Yes, it is a Best Little Coffee Shop.
